I’m still VERY BAD at tumblr currently, so distracted by twitter as it is, but I PROMISE I will use this hunk o’junk more, wow (and I am working on palette requests slowly!)
missed it did she reblog anything funny
WHAT DID SHE EVEN REBLOG
NOTHING HORRIBLE just two things I probably would not have reblogged, one was like a HUGE CHAIN HOMESTUCK POST the worst part is that she was too lazy to delete them herself while still logged in as me so I HAD TO humphhh

J: Favorite system?
This one is very easy for me, actually! PS2, because it has both the library of the PS2 AND the Playstation accessible to it, and to me, that far outweighs the the library you are going to get out of any other system. I do love the SNES a lot, but if I had to choose just one console out of literally every console to be able to play, it would be the PS2. There are still so many PS/PS2 games I need to play; perfect evidence that this is the perfect choice.
W: Any games you regret getting rid of?
Snobow Kids + (otherwise known as Snowboard Kids Plus). This thing is rare, expensive and a bit sought after and is probably the game of most worth I’ve ever sold. I’d like to get it back someday, being a big fan of Snowboard Kids, but I really felt like the added cash at the time. Oops. I’ve actually contemplated selling Xenoblade once I finally beat it, but I know I would regret that, so I really shouldn’t. It would be even more expensive to buy back, so that’s really a mistake waiting to happen. Not any others I can think of that I’ve actually gotten rid of, though! I hold onto my games if I like them, so I usually have no regrets unless something went missing/broke/was broken or rendered unfixable by someone.
Z: Game character you most associate with?
The ones that come to mind instantly are all of similar types— Locke (FFVI), Zidane (FFIX), Zack (FFVII+Crisis Core), Garry (Ib)… I’ve always identified personally with characters that are happy-go-lucky (especially in the face of hardship/danger) and also very empathetic and caring, especially outwardly so. I am very much those things, so I always feel a kinship with those types of characters. One that fits the bill slightly less is Stocke from Radiant Historia—he’s more quiet and seemingly uncaring, which is a side I probably have to outsiders—which is exactly how Stocke is viewed by outsiders who don’t know how Stocke really is and just how much he empathizes with others and cares for his comrades, to the point of fighting against time and fate itself to change their fates. Tatsuya is similar to this too, so I also identify with both of them! All of these characters are also fiercely loyal, and if you know me, that is me to a T if I give a damn about somebody.

D: Favorite Soundtrack?
PLEASE DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE just one but I will barf out my very top ones: Chrono Cross, Nier, Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy VI, Pokemon GSC, Rockman 2, Ys III/Oath in Felghana, OKAY I can stop there but I feel like I’m doing disservice to many others I love too!!
F: Biggest Let down?
Final Fantasy XIII. I’ve been a long-time fan of the series, and I bought it full-prize. I’m also not a huge fan of VIII or X, but I at least got very far in those—FFXIII I had to force, and put down a few times, ultimately getting about 24 hours in and the last two times I tried to play it, I literally felt like it was making me feel depressed. Like, void of wanting to play ANYTHING. I do not think it’s the worst game I’ve ever played, but as a generally pretty huge FF fan, it was a huge disappointment to me. It looks pretty, and the characters are actually overall more appealing to me than X’s, but the game itself could not save it for me. The battle gameplay, itself, I think is what bothers me most. I feel like if it would have been constructed with a normal FF battle system, it would have been fine—or even FFXII’s, but it just comes off feeling…. euughg. I did not enjoy myself in battles at all, and the weapon upgrading system is not very compelling at all. Not to mention that in 24 hours I couldn’t repeat much of the plot to you. Way too many words being thrown left and right that even when explained are so confusing to follow. (see, Tolkien’s writing a bit here) Thankfully, I am pretty damn sure I won’t be disappointed by Final Fantasy XV by the looks of it, so a few disappointments in the series isn’t enough to bother me too much, I just really wished I hadn’t have paid $60 for this particular game (which is now worth about $10)
M: Favorite Game of last year?
Pokemon X, for sure. I have a ridiculous amount of hours on it already! It may not be a perfect Pokemon game in terms of plot/characters/etc, but the 3D step up was really satisfying, and it has some kickin’ tracks. Increased shiny odds are a huge plus to me too!!
T: Best game memory?
A lot of the games I love today I love thanks to my best friend Nick. I didn’t actually own many systems or games myself as a kid; I spent most of my time playing video games at his house, on his games! The reason I have such an attachment to certain games is thanks to playing them with him at his house, especially: FFIV, VI, SMRPG, Secret of Mana, and Megaman 7+X. I still love all of those games dearly, one really can’t shake off the effects of nostalgia easy, not that anyone should try! He also gave me his Playstation when he bought a Playstation 2, which was huge for me. I always got systems late, but two he directly helped me get; that one, and him and a few other friends pooled together one birthday to buy me a Gamecube. They’re really such wonderful memories, and probably a lot of the reason I still love video games so much to this day.

N. Favorite protagonist?
This is a hard question, because I love so many, and love a LOT of games… but I think I’ll go with Tatsuya Suou from Persona 2. His actual personality is great—he’s looked at as a loner cool kid in school, but in actuality he’s more just the quiet type and doesn’t have much confidence in himself despite his popularity. And yet, he can be a total goof… he loves his motorcycle, and imitating bike/plane sounds.
But onto the important part, Persona 2 has amazing characters, development, and story. I look at Tatsuya as the main protagonist of both IS AND EP. EP is from Maya’s perspective, but I think that makes Tatsuya no less the main character; just that we don’t get to see into his head until much later in the game. I don’t want to say much because if you love a good heartrending story, Persona 2 is made for you, please play both games (in order)! Tatsuya is the single most tragic hero I can think of; his burden is a fate no one should have to be put through, but it’s absolutely beautifully done.
O: Favorite antagonist?
This is… also insanely hard. The one that came to mind as overall favourite the fastest was Kuja from Final Fantasy IX. FFIX is already a little underloved in the series as a whole, but I feel like Kuja is also a very underrated villain. Unlike Sephiroth, I feel like his motivations and the reasons behind his actions are both justified and very sad. My favourite part about Kuja, though, is that his flambouyant, revealing looks and personality have a REASON behind them [and this is SPOILERS, don’t read if you don’t want to know because please play the game, it’s amazing], and that reason is really easy to sympathize with. Born to a race of vessel-like creatures created with no individuality, that all look the same… he can’t stand it, so he strives to look as outlandishly different as possible, even as far as concealing his tail. And this race is also doomed with a small lifespan… his fear of death is part of what drives his madness, too. The ending of the game hurts me so, so badly. Despite all the horrible things he’s done, he feels actual remorse—finally catching up to his own actions. And the main character spends his last moments with him—which is implied to possibly be quite a long time. It’s very, very heartrending… Kuja left a strong impression on me from a young age, I love him so much. But then again, I love the game so much I might just be a little biased!
P: Favorite Genre?
RPGs, for sure. Both turn-based, strategy and action RPGs! Not pure strategy though, I’m really not fond of those outside of Pikmin, but they don’t really count as RPGs, usually!
